The Power of Pink!
Shooting against a solid white background is a classic style when it comes to photography and film. Undoubtedly, it produces effective, clean results making it a go to feature for a large amount of location shoots. One might think that by adding colour to a background, it may restrict a shoot’s potential or limits the location to a particular type of shoot, but this isn’t the case. Amazing Space Locations has in its library a varied collection of locations willing to go against the curve and proving how colour can add a completely new dynamic to a shoot’s potential. And surprisingly, the colour is pink.
RES-9070 is oozing with potential with its charming character and bold colour choices throughout the property, particularly the sitting room. The light pink walls speak for themselves against the darker tones of the property. Cleverly combined with white wooden flooring, an elegant fireplace and pale blue antique style furniture, this pink film location screams vibrancy and decadence, perfect for any shoot looking to go against the grain.
This beautifully styled Victorian terraced townhouse demonstrates how pinks can be used subtly yet effectively. Almost peach in tone, this shade runs through the hallway into the minimalist style sitting room and brings an air of warmth and stylishness to any shoot.
On the other side of the spectrum is RES-7984. ‘Subtle’ does not exist in this Margate based location and instead, you find brilliant examples of hot pinks, corals and magentas. What this property offers for a shoot is endless. By bringing bold pinks, as well as other colours, to the entirety of the house – means every angle and every shot is going to be daring.
This versatile studio in North London has a very uncommon concrete wall in a stunning shade of pink. Due to the texture of the wall itself, it has natural highlights and lowlights of blush pinks which create a really interesting and unique backdrop. Combined with a complimentary shade of blue/grey concrete flooring and a wide variety of props, this location has a charming rustic feel which no doubt will be reflected in the shoot.
RES-9665 is a warehouse apartment that would also not look out of place down the quaint alleyways of the French Riviera. The tone of this pink wall is much softer to some we have seen and is perfectly enhanced by the green attributes in the room. This property is another excellent example of how pink walls can be used to amplify a set, without being overpowering and really throw a new dynamic into shooting film or photography.
