2022 Interior Predictions
Amazing Space take a look at some of the top interior trends you can expect to find on location this year:
Retro/Colourful
We love a blast from the past at Amazing Space, and if you haven’t already, you should check out our blog on retro locations and their brilliance! This is a predicted trend we can’t wait to see more of. ‘Retro’ and colour tend to go hand in hand; you can expect to see a blend of turquoise, bright yellows and burnt oranges to name a few. This could manifest itself in the furnishings - often bold, statement items such as a velvet sofa or armchair. Or, it could be found on the walls in daring paint colours or vibrant wallpapers.
Reclaiming the bedroom
After these past uncertain 18 months, the bedroom has had to become a multifunctional space, often doubling up as the home office while we navigate through working remotely. For the coming year, there’s a growing want for bedrooms to return to their sole purpose – to be a place of rest.
With this in mind, we’re seeing a lot of spaces take a more minimalistic style of bedroom; to simplify and strip back to a sanctuary rather than a workspace! We have seen this clean interior style creeping in with wall mounted lights, slim and discrete bedside tables and reducing clutter. This trend will stay popular but may be coupled with soft colour palettes, mood lighting and layers of comforting texture.

Carrying on with the theme of minimalism, this trend continues to be popular throughout the entire home. Surfaces are being stripped of their clutter, appliances are being hidden away and continuity flows through the house. Take a look at a couple of examples below on our library. There is a real popularity with using natural materials throughout, and this could be down to a shift in mindset regarding sustainability. Using natural woods and materials, and using them throughout a space, can help to extend the length of time you use it, instead of replacing items each time a new trend surpasses it. And it looks amazing!
Bringing in Outside In
After spending such a vast amount of time cooped up indoors recently, there’s no mistaking the value of the outdoors and how it can affect our moods. This is an idea that many will bring into 2022 and into their homes! Earthy or natural colours such as deep greens and blues are becoming increasingly popular. Additionally, using house plants or woody or terracotta accessories really help to create a tranquil space.
